With at-home DNA testing kits now accessible to anyone with $120 to spare, and the cost of whole genome sequencing dropping from an estimated $2.7 billion to $300 in the last 20 years, it’s tempting to think that soon we’ll all know exactly which diseases we’re genetically predisposed to, and get medical care tailored just for us.
